Position: Full-Time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Metro Partners OBGYN

Metro Partners Obstetrics & Gynecology P.A. is comprised of experienced practitioners dedicated to providing compassionate and competent care to women of all ages, respecting their healthcare concerns and individuality. Our main offices are located in Maplewood, MN, with additional offices in Woodbury and Mendota Heights/Lilydale, MN. The successful candidate must be open to working at all locations.

We are seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MLS certification required) to join our team. The role involves commuting among all three Metro Partners locations.

Job Duties:

  • Perform chemical, microscopic, gynecological, hematological, parasitic, and bacteriologic tests under the provider's guidance for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including running controls and performing temperature checks on refrigerators/freezers, with proper documentation.
  • Stock draw stations with phlebotomy and injection supplies.
  • Report laboratory concerns, errors, or QA incidents to the Clinical Manager or MA Supervisor.
  • Manage all lab draws and injections scheduled daily.
  • Coordinate with outside labs to ensure receipt of test results and proper handling of specimens.
  • Order and oversee supply inventory for the clinic.
  • Greet and prepare patients professionally, assist with procedures, perform phlebotomy, and administer injections as needed.
  • Assist at the Front Desk and Scheduling areas as necessary.
  • Attend required meetings and support the organization's goals and philosophy.
  • Maintain patient and company confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • MLT/MLS certification.
    • Minimum of three years of laboratory experience.
    • Medical assistant experience preferred or willingness to train.
    • CPR certification required.
    • Strong planning, organization, and multitasking skills.
    • Ability to work well with others.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Proficiency with computers, especially in practice management systems and electronic medical records.
    • Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
    • Effective reading and writing skills.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Abilities:

    • Clear and effective communication.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • CPR Certification (Required)
    • MLT/MLS Certification (Required)

    Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday
    • 8-hour day shift
