Hours Per Week: 40 hours / 1.0 FTE
Pay Range:
Medical Assistant/EMT $22.77‑$28.83 per hour; CMA/RMA $23.38‑$29.45 per hour; LPN $26.06‑$33.86 per hour
Health Partners is currently hiring for a full‑time Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT.
Sign‑On Bonus Eligible.
Qualifications – LPN- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current LPN licensure in Minnesota.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required (online BLS certification not acceptable).
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling.
- One year working experience as an LPN preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR graduated from an accredited EMT program and hold a current EMT license.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required (online BLS certification not acceptable).
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling.
- Current Medical Assistant certification or registration through AAMA or AMT preferred.
- Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.
- Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting.
- Assist patients to achieve basic health‑care goals.
- Identify patient education needs, provide instruction and refer appropriately.
- Document observations, actions and patient outcomes.
- Provide safe, accurate and clinically competent direct care to patients and families.
- Recognize patient abnormalities or urgent problems and seek appropriate assistance.
- Obtain health history information. Obtain accurate vital signs, recognize and report variances.
- Teach techniques or provide information according to established program.
- Accurately and appropriately document procedures and treatment in each patient’s record.
- Appropriately communicate information to other members of the health‑care team.
- Provide the patient and family with current and accurate information regarding the procedure and care.
- Perform telephone screening under direction of RN or MD.
- Assure patients’ rights to privacy, safety and confidentiality.
- Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant practice areas.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Serve as a catalyst in improving standards of LPN practice.
- Serve as a role model for technical conduct and practice.
- Provide support to professional and technical staff.
- Solve problems appropriately by seeking assistance from members of the healthcare team.
- Effect positive response from patients and other members of the healthcare team through interpersonal skills.
- Room patients and complete vital signs and other pertinent physical measurements.
- Administer medication and clinical procedures according to authorized policy and document them according to Health Partners policy (including DISCUS or AIMS assessment).
- Review charts for the presence of pertinent information relevant to the patient’s appointment (including Prepared Practice work as developed by the team).
- Provide and document any needed and requested health educational materials to the patient.
- Handle patient and their records in a private and confidential manner per Health Partners policy.
- Seek medical and/or nursing assistance when encountering an acutely ill patient or a patient with a changing condition.
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment rooms and set up for procedures; assist provider as needed.
