The Clinical Specialist is responsible for ensuring clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and the ongoing education and training of the Enterprise Therapy staff. This role leads clinical initiatives and supports operational objectives within a designated region, promoting best practices, quality outcomes, and a consistent standard of care. Responsibilities include compliance with federal and state regulations, working directly with operational leaders to support performance metrics, collaborating on improvement opportunities, serving as a subject matter expert, developing training and resources across multiple service lines, supporting field staff professional growth, monitoring regulatory updates, and overseeing student placement.
The Specialist also reviews billing and coding, assists with denials management, conducts policy reviews, and supports Electronic Medical Record (EMR) management and development of EMR‑specific resources.
- Ensure clinical competency and regulatory compliance across designated regions.
- Lead clinical initiatives, fostering best practices and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with operational leaders on performance metrics and strategic initiatives.
- Provide consultative guidance on clinical interventions and best practices.
- Develop and deliver training and resources for multiple service lines, including skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient services.
- Support professional growth of field staff and lead the Senior Therapist program.
- Monitor federal and state regulatory updates and communicate changes to staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure regulatory compliance and risk reduction.
- Coordinate and oversee student placement, ensuring proper supervision and monitoring of clinical rotations.
- Review billing, coding, and assist with denial management.
- Complete policy reviews and provide timely updates.
- Support EMR management and develop resources to improve documentation accuracy and workflow efficiency.
- Develop a culture in which all members work constructively to improve individual and team performance.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships within and outside of own area.
- Lead in establishing work procedures and evaluation processes for therapeutic patient care.
- Promote organizational learning through knowledge management, training and development, and sharing key experiences.
- Seek opportunities to help others learn as teacher, coach, and mentor.
- Appropriate education level in accordance with state licensure.
- Five years of experience in therapy and rehabilitation, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Current licensure as an Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapist in the state of residence. May require a valid driver’s license.
