About this Position
Provides advanced life support care to the sick and injured and safely transports customers of all ages to a medical facility. In addition, the paramedic assists with other services and events as directed by North Memorial Ambulance Service.
Responsibilities- Transport patients safely and provide advanced life support care.
- Assist with other services and events as directed.
Education
- Successfully completed paramedic training program from an accredited institution.
- Associate of Science degree preferred.
Experience
- Previous ambulance experience preferred.
- Previous advanced life support experience preferred.
- For Air Care Paramedics, three (3) years of ALS experience as a Paramedic required.
- For Air Care Paramedics, prior flight experience preferred.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, make decisions during emergency situations and work independently.
- Possess or quickly acquire knowledge of the street and highway system within the service area.
- Ground Paramedic Requirements:
Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. - State Requirement:
American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. - NMHC Standard:
Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record. - State Requirement:
American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS Certification. - NMHC Preferred: ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
- Air Care Paramedic Requirements:
- Current Minnesota Paramedic Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date.
- Current Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- National Registered Paramedic.
- American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
- Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 12 months from date of hire.
- American Heart Association and American Red Cross PALS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
- ICM-100, ICM-200 and ICM-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- Maximum weight of 215 pounds in uniform.
- Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.

Salary Range:
Medical Transportation Paramedic Metro ($32.96 - $48.93), based on experience
Shift Differential:
Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
