Job Description

Seeking a Casual Doctoral Psychologist to provide psychology services to patients, ages twelve to adult, including evaluation and assessment, treatment, education, and consultation to improve clients’ abilities to their highest feasible level. The psychologist provides services as part of a care team assembled to assure optimal customer service, clinical and financial outcomes, under the direction of Essentia Health service line management and the referring physician.

The Essentia Health Psychology department provides integrated psychological care and serves as a resource across medical specialties to promote positive patient outcomes from an empirically based wellness approach. The caseload may cover a wide variety of medical diagnoses, including chronic pain, migraines, insomnia, obesity, irritable bowel syndrome, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurological conditions.

• Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for patients aged 12 and older.
• Deliver treatment, education, and consultation to improve patients’ functioning.
• Provide CBT and/or ACT interventions for pain management.
• Administer biofeedback therapy.
• Facilitate group interventions for sleep, pain, and/or eating behaviors.
• Use mindfulness and hypnosis techniques.
• Implement interventions targeting changes in eating behaviors.

• Doctoral degree in psychology from a regionally accredited university.
• Ph.D. or Psy.
  
  D. in Psychology with a current Minnesota license.
• Experience in Health Psychology or as a Clinical Psychologist preferred; willingness to mentor a candidate with interest in Health Psychology is a plus.
• High level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co‑workers, and others.
