About the Role

The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a residential, sex‑offense specific treatment program that serves over 700 individuals who have been civilly committed for sexual offending. In this role you will provide comprehensive risk assessments, research, and forensic consultation in the specialized field of civilly committed sexual offenders.

Responsibilities
  • Select and administer assessments, conduct clinical interviews and/or mental status examinations, and complete evaluations
  • Consult and provide testimony to the Minnesota Commitment Appeal Panel and Special Review Board hearings
  • Provide specialized and technical consultation to the courts, attorneys, and other professionals
  • Apply sophisticated problem‑solving skills when providing consultations, mentoring and educational experiences to unlicensed psychologists
  • Provide mentoring, clinical supervision, and training to unlicensed psychologists
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.

    D. in Clinical or Forensic Psychology
  • Licensed Psychologist (LP) or be licensed eligible in the state of MN
  • 1 year of post‑licensed work experience in a forensic or correctional setting using evidence‑based treatment approaches and comprehensive psychological services (e.g., psychological evaluation, crisis intervention)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competency in administration and interpretation of instruments utilized in forensic evaluations
  • Experience in testifying and completing court‑ordered evaluations; knowledge of mental health case law is highly preferred
  • Experience working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Additional Requirements

Provide documentation of doctoral degree and clear evidence of eligibility to work in the United States at the start of employment. Reference checks and a criminal background check will be conducted prior to appointment.
