Occupational Therapist - Rehabilitation Services Casual - Detroit Lakes, MN

Job Description

This position provides therapy services to patients of all ages, including evaluation and assessment, treatment, education, and consultation to improve patients’ abilities to their highest possible level. The role is part of a care team assembled to assure optimal clinical and financial outcomes, under the direction of Essentia Health management and the referring physician.

• Provides therapy evaluation, treatment planning, treatment, patient/caregiver education, and discharge planning for a full caseload of patients.
• Provides all ancillary/administrative requirements for a full caseload of patients, including documentation, billing, scheduling management, and other administrative duties.
• Demonstrates appropriate communication, professionalism and supervision of support staff (licensed assistants, aides, volunteers) and complies with all organization policies.
• Complies with organization code of conduct.
• Meets professional organization core values, code of ethics, & scope of practice.
• Works where the patient need is highest (including flexing to other departments) when the home department schedule allows.
• Weekend requirements: 4 (or more) weekends per year.
• Will primarily treat adults – all ages; general medical, neurological conditions, orthopedic injury/surgery.
• The ideal candidate has a history of inpatient or post‑acute rehab (preferred but not a prerequisite), schedule flexibility, willingness to work weekends.

• Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Current state licensure as Occupational Therapist.
