Neuroscience Care Position
In Neuroscience you will care for a wide variety of patients with care needs in relation to neuro trauma and neurologic issues. Essentia Health is a Level 1 Trauma center and Thrombectomy Certified Stroke Center. You will work in a valued/strong based team in a fast paced environment. In neuroscience you will receive extensive stroke education and also learn to care for patients with spine and brain injuries.
You will frequently use the NIHSS stroke scale for assessment of patients and help patients with swallowing issues and dysphasia screening. You will be responsible for organizing and providing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. You will contribute to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meet the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies.
Current nursing licensure in Minnesota
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire
