Duties include conducting research, evaluating data, establishing patterns and trends, preparing documents and reports with intelligence information for distribution, and preparing response to data practice requests, including redaction and distribution of records for the Sheriff’s Office, in accordance with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor s Degree in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, statistics, legal studies, or closely related field; OR Associate’s Degree AND two (2) years full-time, paid, verifiable experience in a law enforcement agency, with responsibility for compiling and analyzing data; OR four (4) years of full-time, paid, verifiable experience in a law enforcement agency, with responsibility for compiling and analyzing data;
- Possession of Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within six (6) months of employment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Training and/or certification in crime analysis methods or data or statistical analysis methods and applications, including crime analysis applications, Pen Link Telephone Toll Analysis, Crime View, Intelligence Analyst Notebook; and ArcGIS or mapping software.
- Experience creating maps utilizing GIS technology.
- Experience with Minnesota Government Data Practices laws and the data practices request process.
