Safety Director NL

Shirley Parsons is partnering with a food manufacturing company looking to add a dynamic Safety Director to lead their safety program. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated proficiency in food processing to execute safety plans, rules, and operational procedures that meet corporate expectations and comply with governmental standards. This person will need to use root cause analysis to examine patterns, pinpoint underlying issues and risk factors, and determine appropriate corrective or preventive actions.

• Identify effective methods and drives ongoing improvement efforts to minimize operational risks, enhance safety awareness, and strengthen safe work behaviors.
• Conducts thorough reviews of incidents, close calls, and work‑related injuries to determine contributing factors and establish safeguards.
• Offers expert support, training, direction, and oversight to employees regarding safety programs and required updates.
• Advises top management on safety and health considerations impacting current business practices, ensures all related compliance obligations are met, and cooperates with leaders to drive continuous improvement in safety culture.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Experience working with both union and non-union workers.
• 7-10 years of safety experience and 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a food manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication across all level and a deep commercial insight paired with the capability to shape decisions among senior leadership.
