JOB DESCRIPTION OverviewThe Minnesota DFL Senate Caucus is currently hiring a full-time Deputy Field Director to work with candidates and incumbent Senators running for the legislature. The Deputy Field Director will report to the Field Director. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, creative problem solvers with campaign-related experience, and passionate about protecting and expanding our majority in the chamber. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with an understanding of Minnesota's political landscape and an exceptional work ethic.
Responsibilities- Support the Field Director in executing the statewide strategic organizing and voter contact plan.
- Provide daily management, coaching, and accountability for a team of regional field organizers.
- Oversee data entry, reporting, and progress-to-goal tracking for all field operations.
- Adapt quickly to shifting political landscapes by developing and implementing new operational systems to better track the success of the field program.
- Maintaining relationships with all partner organizations on the ground in partnership with Senate leadership.
- Facilitate regular check-ins with staff to ensure professional development and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate for this role is an organized project manager or campaign manager with at least one cycle of experience, with excellent interpersonal communications skills and a passion for DFL values. They should have excellent time management skills, a meticulous attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a knack for creative problem-solving. They must have knowledge of VAN, a track record of managing people, and/or an ability to work effectively with the public.
