Profile Summary

The Leave & Disability Claims Manager oversees the administration and management of disability and leave claims within the Claims organization.

Responsibilities
  • Administration & Management:
    Oversee the administration and management of disability and leave claims, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations such as FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
  • Team Leadership:
    Lead and manage a team of claims professionals, offering guidance, support, and development planning to ensure high performance and maintain culture.
  • Decision-Making:
    Evaluate complex claims and situations, making informed decisions that require judgment and providing direction on disability and leave management claims.
  • Customer Service:
    Deliver exemplary customer service to claimants, ensuring timely and accurate communication and resolution of claims.
  • Process Development:
    Develop, implement, and adopt claims policies and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Partnership:
    Collaborate with global partners and internal stakeholders, including HR, legal, and operational teams, to align claims management with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to claims management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Facilitate regular audits and reviews of claims processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Source opportunities for technology and process improvements from claims professionals to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement at the source.
  • Resource Management:
    Manage demand and capacity to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Industry Awareness:
    Stay current with industry trends and changes in regulations related to disability and leave claims.
  • Additional Duties:
    Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Insurance, Human Resources, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in disability claims management.
  • Exceptional knowledge of leave related laws/regulations, including FMLA, ADA, PFML, Paid Sick Leave, PWFA, and pregnancy related leaves.
  • Strong background in disability management and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the ability to influence key decision makers to drive process improvements and change management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and foster effective partnerships across the enterprise.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Claims Professional (CCP), or similar are highly desirable.
Compensation

Annual base salary range: $88,470 - $110,590 USD.

Additional incentives may include annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long‑term incentives based on role and performance.
