SummaryResponsible for managing, coordinating, and directing corporate-wide accounting and financial services.
Compensation: $ per year
Essential Functions- Supervises staff including hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and performance management.
- Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
- Evaluates organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards and their impact upon corporate activities; recommends policy and procedural changes as required.
- Provides direction, advisement, and assistance to organizational units regarding accounting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
- Oversees insurance renewal requests.
- Oversees the management of the expense reporting system.
- Oversees all month- and year-end activity.
- Leads and/or participates in department or cross‑functional projects ensuring the project meets requirements and deadlines; communicates with the team throughout the process to keep the team well‑informed of changes and ensures adoption of new processes.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; AND five (5) years of professional accounting experience, two (2) years of which were in a managerial role; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Principles and practices of employee supervision, including selection, work planning, organization, performance review and evaluation, and employee training.
- Principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees, and managing in a team environment.
- Principles and practices of accounting operations and management.
- Practices of reviewing financial documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Principles and practices of project management.
- Applicable policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
- Computer applications related to the work.
- Financial record‑keeping and accounting practices and techniques.
- Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
- Planning, organizing, and administering a comprehensive financial management and reporting program.
- Overseeing and coordinating the conduct of comprehensive annual financial audits.
- Planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of assigned staff.
- Training others in policies and procedures related to the work.
- Developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Developing effective work teams and motivating individuals to meet goals and objectives and provide customer services in the most cost‑effective and efficient manner.
- Interpreting, applying, and explaining corporate policies and procedures.
- Interpreting, applying, and explaining complex federal, state, and local laws related to the areas of responsibility.
- Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines.
- Using tact, discretion, and prudence in dealing with those contacted in the course of the work.
- Compiling, researching, and reviewing financial figures for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
- Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction.
