About the Position
St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is seeking an Information Specialist III to join the Civil Process Division at the St. Louis County Courthouse in Duluth, MN. The role requires independent, multi‑tasking abilities in a high‑demand environment with thorough attention to detail. Team collaboration is critical.
Responsibilities- Routinely work and interact with the public and partnering agencies by phone, email, and in person.
- Enter and regularly update complex civil processes in accordance with judicial branch (court) and statutory deadlines.
- Oversee weekly mortgage foreclosure sales and post‑sale processes.
- Communicate with deputies assigned to the Civil Division to ensure proper and timely service of process.
- Assist current employees with civil process request intake requirements and questions.
- Maintain professional, accurate, and efficient office records management systems.
- Five (5) years full‑time paid verifiable clerical experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate personal computer‑based systems.
- Proficiency in operating word‑processing software, as defined by the Civil Service Commission.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute (net) from clear copy.
- Thorough working knowledge of legal records and terminology.
Salary range for 2026 is $24.69 – $34.20 per hour, including longevity pay. Position is covered under the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement, represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.

Physical‑Medical StandardsQualified applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include:
- Near and mid‑range vision; visual accommodation.
- Heard within 20 feet.
- Grip, pinch and hand dexterity.
- Push/pull up to 15 pounds; lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Bend, rotate and reach neck and shoulder area.
- Stand, sit, walk and support static positions.
