Overview
Job Summary. As a Production Technician in Composites or Assembly, you will perform a variety of tasks pivotal to building a plane or jet. You will learn to use a range of hand tools and pneumatic fixtures to assemble parts. The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new skills as needed.
Schedule and Compensation$2K Sign-on eligible until further notice. This is a weekend shift role:
Fri-Sun 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM (three 12-hour days). 12% Weekend Shift Differential; overtime as required.
Note:
You will be trained on one of the weekday shift schedules (Mon-Thu 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM or Mon-Thu 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM) for 2–3 months. After training, you will begin working the weekend shift.
- Knowledge in one primary responsibility within the assembly area. New hires will learn one discipline/build/skillset initially within 3 months depending on the assembly area.
- Develop skills in reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications.
- Understand parts, parts fit, clearance, alignment, and functional performance to comply with design requirements.
- Responsible for cleaning, setup and use of bonding, drilling, and holding fixtures.
- Install rivets, screws, and bolts using appropriate tools.
- Route wires, cables and tubing.
- Torque hardware and fittings using various tools and test equipment.
- Follow and properly document aircraft build instructions.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required, including respirator.
- Learn to mix and apply adhesives, resins, and sealants per instructions.
- Maintain a clear and organized workstation to department standards.

- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum one-year related experience, education and/or training required (experience in related manufacturing, automotive, military aircraft and maintenance, or other fields/skills may be considered partially relevant depending on experience)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- High integrity and ability to communicate errors to leadership to ensure immediate correction
- Initiative, time management, and personal accountability
- Reliable and adaptable to changing work requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings and to calculate dimensions within a thousandth of an inch
- Knowledge of basic tools and good judgment in tool selection
Additional skills
- Auto/marine mechanic and collision repair: ability to work on auto/marine items to remove and install components
- Assembly: basic assembly tasks following specific instructions
- Low/Medium/High volume manufacturing: experience in various manufacturing environments
- Military: guard, reserves or active military experience in a non-mechanical discipline
- Surface preparation: cleaning, sanding, masking for adhesives
- Carpentry, construction/DIY: fine carpentry and home repair skills
- Plumbing: installing and torquing flared fittings; experience in plumbing trades
- General aircraft knowledge: knowledge of working around aircraft with relevant experience
- Fast-paced environments: experience in dynamic, high-demand settings
