Job Summary
As a Production Technician in Composites or Assembly, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are pivotal to building a plane or jet. As a technician you will learn to use a variety of hand tools and pneumatic fixtures to assemble parts. The role requires flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills as needed.
$2K Sign‑on eligible until further notice.
ScheduleThis is a weekend shift role. The schedule is Fri‑Sat‑Sun 5:00 AM ‑ 5:30 PM (3 days, 12 hours each); 12% Weekend Shift Differential; overtime as required.
- Please note that you will be required to train on one of the weekday shift schedules (either Mon‑Thu 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM or Mon‑Thu 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM) for 2‑3 months. Once fully trained, you will begin working the weekend shift.
- Diverse knowledge in two primary responsibilities within the assembly area. New hires will have responsibility to learn two disciplines/builds/skillsets initially within 6 months depending on assembly area starting.
- Confidently install components for fit, clearance, alignment and functional performance within design requirements.
- Manage the technician schedule and takt time pace.
- Inspect, build and install aircraft components.
- Follow engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ensure part fit, clearance, alignment and functional performance complies with design requirements.
- Responsible for cleaning, set up and use of bonding, drilling, and holding fixtures.
- Route wires, cables and tubing.
- Install rivets, screws and bolts using appropriate tools.
- Torque hardware and fitments using various tools and test equipment.
- Follow and properly document aircraft build instructions.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required, including respirator.
- Mix and apply adhesives, resins and sealants per instructions.
- Maintain a clear and organized workstation to department standards.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum two years of related experience, education and/or training (experience in medium/low‑volume manufacturing, automotive, military aircraft and maintenance, or other listed fields considered partially relevant).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to examine completed work for accuracy.
- Adaptability to changing assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment.
- High levels of integrity and ability to communicate errors to leadership for immediate correction.
- Initiative to finish assignments and personal accountability for time management.
- Reliable and dependable work ethic and ability to adapt to changing work requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings and calculate dimensions within a thousandth of an inch.
- Knowledge of basic tools and good judgment when selecting the proper tool for the job.
- Auto/marine mechanic and collision repair.
- General assembly tasks following specific instructions.
- Low/medium‑volume manufacturing experience.
- High‑volume manufacturing experience.
- Military experience (Guard, Reserves, or active) in a non‑mechanical discipline.
- Surface preparation for adhesives.
- Carpentry skills for fine detail work.
- Construction/DIY building, framing and major home repair.
- Plumbing installation and torque of flared fittings.
- General aircraft knowledge (around aircraft, pilot experience, etc.).
- Experience in fast‑paced environments such as quick oil change, line cooks, health care, etc.
- Self‑development: actively seeks new ways to grow and be challenged using formal and informal development channels.
