Manufacturing Engineer, Assembly

We are hiring a Prototype & Production Assembly Operator on behalf of our client in Duluth, MN. In this high‑impact role, you will be the bridge between imagination and reality – taking fresh engineering concepts, building them into tangible prototypes, and assembling the final products that head out the door. Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Production Assembly (50%):
Assemble and test products for standard production runs. - Prototype Building (25%):
Build prototype units from sketches, CAD drawings, diagrams, and verbal instructions. - Testing & Data (10%):
Perform testing and collect data on prototypes and pre‑production units. - Production Support (5%):
Provide technical assistance and serve as a liaison as products transition to production. - Tooling & Docs (5%):
Assist with the design of tooling and manufacturing documentation. - Daily Support (5%):
Handle other duties as assigned to keep the team moving.
- Experience:
4 - 6 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment. - Magnetics
Skills:
Skilled with magnetics assembly, including hand soldering, winding, wire stripping, and lead termination. - Blueprint Reading:
Ability to work from minimal documentation like sketches and diagrams. - Attention to Quality:
Proactive about alerting supervisors and engineers to quality or delivery issues. - Judgment:
Comfortable with semi‑routine assignments but able to recognize when to deviate from standard practice.
- Strong understanding of best practices for magnetics assembly.
- Experience assisting with New Product Introduction (NPI) transitions.
