R Plant Operator (Testing Technician) – Ramsey, MN
Location: Ramsey, MN – Industrial Filling Facility
Shift: 1st shift (6:30 am – 3:00 pm), Monday – Friday
Pay Rate: $24 per hour
Responsibilities- Conduct non‑destructive testing (NDT) on gas cylinders using high‑frequency acoustic equipment, measuring thickness and detecting flaws such as cracks, corrosion, and other defects.
- Analyze and evaluate testing data, ensuring adherence to established testing procedures and quality standards.
- Safely operate forklifts in confined spaces to move cylinder pallets in and out of the testing facility.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of daily test results, verifying data for compliance with local, state, federal, and DOT regulations.
- Assist with routine maintenance and calibration of NDT equipment and related machinery.
- Support cylinder painting operations while upholding quality standards.
- Perform surface inspections for defects and corrosion prior to testing to ensure optimal results.
- Adjust work rhythms to accommodate dynamic work environments and changing priorities.
- Carry out additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of related technical or mechanical experience (industry‑specific experience may be substituted with equivalent education and experience).
- Proficient in basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, percentages, and unit conversions.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong safety orientation, with respect for Airgas safety programs, OSHA regulations, and other applicable safety rules.
- Mechanical or maintenance aptitude.
