NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Maintenance Technician 2 or 3 to join our team supporting our Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) in Winsted. The Maintenance Technician 2 or 3 is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and facilities to ensure the continuation of production processes.

Salary Range Maintenance Technician 3: $32.30 - $38.00 per hour (Non-Exempt)

Shift Schedule
: 2nd shift:
Monday – Thursday 1pm - 11pm or 3pm – 1am
Shift Differential
: 2nd shift – $1.50/hour
As a Maintenance Technician 2 you will:
- Complete hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic repairs
- Assembling, building and moving of production equipment
- Dismantle, replace defective parts, reassemble and adjust to ensure efficient operation
- Thoroughly complete PM reports and fill out MWR’s for large issues needing more attention
- Fabricate parts/components required to complete any repairs necessary to bring equipment operational
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and scheduled work
- Facilities and yard maintenance and projects
- Participate and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Maintain clean work service shop area
- Clean up area following all maintenance services
- Participate in problem solving issues
- Perform detailed repairs to controls and other equipment
- Assist in trouble shooting and root cause analysis
- Perform tasks with minimum technical guidance
- Communicate relevant information and concerns positively and effectively to others in timely manner
- Conduct air quality checks
- Report all maintenance or safety concerns with maintenance manager
- Ensure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE
- Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
As a Maintenance Technician 3 you will:
- All of the responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician 2
- Independently trouble shoot, identify and resolve issues
- Determine root cause and report correction
- Subject matter expert; requires limited to no technical guidance
- Participate in problem solving issues
- Perform detailed repairs to controls and other equipment
Role Qualifications as a Maintenance Technician 2 or 3:
- Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing facility
- Preferred candidates will have a completed a formal skilled trades program with training in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electrical maintenance and repair
- Basic knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Welding capabilities
- Ability to perform basic shop math functions
- Accurately use tape measure and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to operate forklift, hoists, cranes, man lifts, and other powered industrial vehicles as needed
- Ability to operate various power and hand tools
- Ability to work with others as part of a high performance team
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
- Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures
- Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills in English
Physical Demands:
This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery. The employee may need to perform work with the use of ladders.
