The Coatings, Assembly, and Shipping Lead supervises and coordinates daily activities across coatings, final assembly, and shipping within the metal fabrication facility.

Shift

1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Leadership
- Lead and oversee daily operations of coating, assembly, and shipping departments
- Coordinate workflow between fabrication, finishing, and final shipment to ensure on-time delivery
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and adjust staffing or priorities as needed
- Ensure production goals, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently met
Coatings (Finishing) Oversight
- Supervise surface preparation, powder coating, painting, or finishing processes
- Ensure proper application techniques, curing processes, and material usage
- Monitor coating quality, thickness, adhesion, and finish consistency
- Maintain coating equipment and ensure proper operation and maintenance schedules
Assembly Supervision
- Oversee final assembly of fabricated components according to blueprints and work instructions
- Ensure accuracy, fit, and function of assembled products
- Resolve assembly issues and collaborate with engineering or production teams as needed
Shipping & Logistics
- Coordinate packaging, labeling, and shipment of finished goods
- Verify orders for accuracy before shipment
- Work with logistics providers and internal teams to meet delivery schedules
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of outgoing products
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety policies, procedures, and proper use of PPE
- Conduct safety training and ensure team compliance with OSHA or company safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment (5S principles)
Team Leadership & Development
- Train, mentor, and develop team members
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Monitor key performance metrics (throughput, scrap rates, on‑time shipping)
- Support lean manufacturing and cost‑reduction initiatives

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade education preferred
2+ years experience in metal fabrication, coatings, assembly, or manufacturing
1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
