The Press Brake Operator plays a key role in supporting production by accurately forming parts according to the daily build schedule. This position works closely with the Parts Control Area (PCA) to ensure timely and accurate part delivery. Successful candidates must be able to operate a forklift, read and interpret blueprints, understand production schedules, and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC press brake forming parts to match the drawings while maintaining accuracy within the tolerances allowed by engineering.
  • Occasionally operate manual machine tools.
  • Must read, interpret and understand blueprints for components being produced.
  • Measure and examine completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to Virnig quality standards and product specifications.
  • Sort formed parts onto pallets, into bins, or in other designated storage locations.
  • Work with the Parts Control Area (PCA) to ensure delivery methods and timing work for them as the customer.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Perform assigned equipment maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.) and keep Department Lead informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability.
  • Safely operate a forklift to load brake and transfer parts.
  • Inform Department Lead of any other concerns that may arise.
  • Work as a team-member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality and productivity goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; basic math skills required.
  • 1 year of manufacturing or mechanical experience required.
  • Previous forklift and hoist experience required.
Skills
  • Ability to operate pneumatic and hand tools such as sanders, grinders, and cutting torches.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and a protractor to perform accurate measurements per specific blueprint and drawing tolerances.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and maintain data integrity to a high degree.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Able to work as part of a team by sharing information, listening actively, following directions, and communicating clearly via written and verbal communication in English.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching required throughout the shift.
  • Regular exposure to repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmet, ear plugs, and safety glasses.

Wage: $25.50/hour
