Sugar Warehouseperson

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and packaging sugar in the warehouse.
• Perform packaging, loading, and forklift operation safely.
• Fill super sacks; operate the remelt system; clean, load, and seal rail cars and semi-trucks.
• Process paperwork and enter data into computer systems.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of bills of lading, weight tickets, master sanitation schedule, and other business-related paperwork.
• Perform routine cleaning, including operating sanitizing equipment such as the sweeper.
• Perform other duties as directed and work overtime as needed.

• Basic mechanical aptitude, able to perform basic maintenance (checking bearings, equipment adjustments, and greasing).
• Basic computer skills, inputting and verifying data.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal communication from supervisors and the Sugar Warehouse Assistant Foreperson.
• Effective communication with truck drivers and employees.
• Must pass the sugar warehouse test, which includes mathematical, computer, and GMP assessments.
• Must pass the computer and hands‑on Rail Safe assessments and the warehouse fall protection program.
• Knowledge of safe operating procedures, personal protective equipment, quality standards including GMP, SQF, FSMA, and sanitation standards.
• Must complete documentation required for all positions, including logbooks, SOPs, JSAs, LOTO procedures, and confined space entry permits.
• Must be able to work with equipment including water hoses, squeegees, brooms, and shovels.
