The position also provides technical expertise to production, quality, and engineering teams, supports dyno operations as needed, and serves as a key resource for test accuracy, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Document teardown findings clearly and accurately, including measurements, visual evidence, and conclusions to support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support root‑cause investigations by correlating teardown results with dyno data, build records, and process history.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for dyno‑related issues, abnormal test results, and repeat failures.
  • Support dyno operations as required, acting as a qualified backup Dyno Operator to maintain production flow and test coverage.
  • Analyze dyno and test data to identify trends, variation, and failure modes; recommend control limits and corrective actions to Engineering and Quality teams.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain dyno equipment and test hardware, ensuring reliable and safe operation.
  • Audit manufacturing processes and product related to dyno performance, including incoming materials, WIP, quarantined inventory, reworked engines, and finished goods.
  • Initiate and manage nonconformance activities, including hold tags, sorting, documentation, and escalation through proper chain of command; may perform limited parts sorting and/or incoming inspection to support production needs.
  • Maintain required quality and test documentation, including audit results, PPAP, FAIRs, RMOs, deviations, PQRs, FTQ, and PP100 metrics.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including PCI/Lean activities focused on failure prevention, test effectiveness, and process capability.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and audit‑ready workspace, strictly following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Work flexible hours or overtime as required, attend company‑provided training, and perform additional duties as needed while maintaining primary responsibility for teardown and technical support functions.
  • Must be available to travel up to two (2) weeks per month for training.
Skills & Knowledge

  • At least one year experience with basic gauging equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) required.
  • Must have flexibility to cover other shifts when needed.
  • Proficient with PC software programs (word processing, spreadsheets, database, email) and ability to create and manipulate documents and databases.
  • Working knowledge of the AS400 system.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict and solve problems independently.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
