- Education:
Minimum 2‑year technical diploma or associate’s degree in Machine Tool Technology/CNC Machining (strict requirement). - Experience:
Proven mastery executing complex machine setups and operations on large‑scale mills, lathes, and multi‑axis centers. - Compensation:
Up to $34.00 per hour (based on setup experience and technical depth) plus perks and performance incentives. - Schedule:
Elite 1st shift with genuine start‑time flexibility (6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 AM). - Work type:
Full‑time, permanent, W‑2 (100% onsite, no remote). - Work history:
High stability required; candidates changing jobs every two years will not be evaluated. - Compliance:
Must be a U.S. citizen or green‑card holder; facility located in Duluth, MN area.
- Performing complex setups and independent operations on an array of CNC and manual machines, focusing primarily on large‑scale milling centers and multi‑axis equipment.
- Editing G‑M code directly at the controller and optimizing active programs to safely manufacture high‑precision components from high‑strength steels and specialized alloys.
- Interpreting complex technical drawings and geometric blueprints to determine exact tolerances, critical dimensions, and the optimal sequence of operations for custom heavy machinery builds.
- Utilizing precision measuring instruments (bore gauges, micrometers, calipers) to verify 100% part conformance to tight‑tolerance standards.
- Collaborating closely with internal engineering and fabrication teams to troubleshoot programming variables, resolve tool‑path issues, and optimize cycle‑time efficiency.
- Maintaining equipment integrity and workstation organization through routine preventative maintenance and strict adherence to 5S safety protocols.
- Educational foundation: A 2‑year technical degree or diploma in CNC Machining, Machine Tool Technology, or related field.
- G‑M Code fluency:
Complete technical mastery of G‑M codes, manual data input (MDI), and practical shop math to edit and perfect programs on the fly. - Large‑scale experience:
Significant, verified experience setting up large milling centers and successfully executing close‑tolerance work on massive or complex work pieces. - Multi‑axis capability:
Active familiarity with 5‑axis machining configurations is a major plus, though not required (advanced training available). - Professional reliability: A rock‑solid, dependable work history demonstrating organizational commitment and multi‑year tenures at previous employers.
