United States Citizens or Green Card holders only; must reside within a dependable daily commuting radius of the shop floor.
Education core: 2‑Year Technical Diploma or Associate’s Degree in CNC Machining or Machine Tool Technology is a strict requirement.
Experience depth:
Proven technical mastery of independent tool/fixture setups, controller‑level G&M code editing, and program optimization.
Machinery depth:
High‑level operation of large‑scale milling centers and complex multi‑axis machine tools (5‑axis or live‑tool turning familiarity is a strong plus).
We are a premier, global market leader in the heavy equipment attachment industry serving the scrap recycling, construction, and demolition sectors. This role is designed for a highly technical, degreed machinist seeking long‑term professional respect, high‑variety technical challenges, and a secure career home.
What You Will Be Doing- Advanced cell setup:
Perform complete, independent setups and advanced operations on large‑scale CNC milling centers and complex multi‑axis machine tools. - Path optimization:
Edit G&M codes and optimize program paths at the controller to safely manufacture precision components from high‑strength steels and specialized alloys. - Print interpretation:
Interpret intricate, multi‑page blueprints and technical engineering drawings to determine exact dimensions, strict geometric tolerances (GD&T), and the ideal sequence of operations. - Precision metrology:
Utilize specialized precision measuring instruments (bore gauges, micrometers, calipers) to conduct first‑article inspections and verify 100% conformance to tight tolerances. - Cross‑functional engineering:
Collaborate directly with design engineering and welding fabrication teams to troubleshoot program issues, resolve complex setup roadblocks, and streamline workflow efficiency. - Shop floor mentorship:
Provide technical mentorship, processing guidance, and hands‑on setup coaching to junior machine operators to ensure repeatable part quality and safe operation. - Asset care & safety:
Uphold a rigorous safety‑first culture, perform basic preventative machine maintenance, and sustain a clean workspace in compliance with 5S standards.
- Heavy machining background:
Significant professional experience managing setups on large milling centers and executing close‑tolerance work on massive, complex work pieces. - Advanced kinematics aptitude:
Practical understanding of multi‑axis configurations; familiarity with 5‑axis machining platforms or live‑tool turning centers is a major plus, though extensive internal training is available. - Analytical drive:
Expert‑level problem‑solving capability to navigate unproven programs, calculate complex cutting parameters, and evaluate tool wear on the fly. - Employment reliability: A rock‑solid, stable work history demonstrating long‑term career commitment and technical growth with previous organizations; frequent job‑hopping is a disqualifier.
