* JOB DESCRIPTION:

** The Composites Technician position within the Bayport Composites team is a high paced team orientated role working closely with other technicians, our engineers, quality team, operators, operations leads, and supervisors to drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot production equipment and processes, and provide hands-on support and training for operators at our Bayport extrusion sites. This role is heavily focused on the extrusion processes and tooling.  

This role will assist in various daily and weekly activities while supporting some longer-term projects.  The position is critical to hitting our daily, weekly, and period-based goals while putting a focus on delivering excellence in extrusion.

* Primary Responsibilities:

*** Troubleshoot issues with extrusion processes across the Bayport site
* Manage, clean and care for extrusion tooling and ancillary equipment
* Train and support operations team involved with extrusion processes
* Assist with cross-functional work on continuous improvement and safety projects.
* Take corrective action on safety incidents, machine downtime, or quality incidents that deviate from customer requirements, with support from engineering team.
* Assist with Engineering / Operations projects as needed.
* Proactively identify potential downtime, scrap or reliability issues and communicate them up to an appropriate level.
* Continuously drive standardization of processes and methods.
* Understand all required department documentation standards and their impact on the extrusion and compounding process.  Ensure that documentation is properly completed, reviewed, and approved.

* Minimum Requirements:

*** High School Diploma
* Strong prioritization and multi-tasking capability.
* Strong aptitude for problem-solving and process improvement.
* Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment and individually.
* Demonstrates a strong interest and aptitude for work in a technical field.
* Experience with PC and software applications.

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Experience with extrusion processes, plastics manufacturing, or composite materials
* Knowledge of dimensional measurement techniques and quality assurance practices
* Experience using precision measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
* Familiarity with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods
* Basic Machining (manual mill, lathe, surface grinder)
* Basic Welding (TIG/MIG and laser)
* Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications
** PAY RANGE:**$27.80 - $40.30
