- COMPENSATION:
Up to $27.00/Hour Starting Rate (commensurate with liquid spray/finishing depth) + +$2.00/hr Shift Differential for 3rd Shift + Corporate Profit Sharing + Comprehensive Benefits - WORK SCHEDULE:
Total Shift Autonomy | 1st Shift (Flexible start windows: 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, or 8:00 AM) or 3rd Shift options available - EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1+ year of Auto Body Schooling OR equivalent hands-on Industrial/Automotive liquid spray painting experience required - COATING TECHNICALITY:
Direct proficiency with paint mixing ratios, mil-thickness verification, flash times, and chemical curing for industrial-grade wet paints - WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Clean, modern, climate-controlled facility with state-of-the-art ventilation, spray booths, and overhead crane infrastructure - REQUIREMENTS: US Citizen or Green Card holder; ability to pass respirator fit-testing/medical clearance and reside within a daily commute of Duluth, MN / Superior, WI

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)- Surface Preparation:
Perform thorough surface prep, including professional sanding, masking, and chemical cleaning on large-scale steel weldments and industrial components. - Chemical & Paint Mixing:
Mix industrial-grade coatings, primers, and catalysts to exact chemical ratios, controlling flash times, finish hardness, and corrosion resistance. - Precision Spray Application:
Operate advanced spray guns, pressure pots, and touch-up equipment to apply flawless protective and aesthetic finishes on heavy machinery. - Final Detailing & Branding:
Execute final product detailing, including the precise alignment and application of custom vinyl cut graphics and branding decals. - Rigging & Material Handling:
Safely operate overhead bridge cranes and rigging gear to transport, flip, and position massive steel structures through prep and paint bays. - Maintain Booth Infrastructure:
Manage paint kitchen inventory and perform routine preventative maintenance on booth filtration systems, fluid lines, and spray guns. - Shop
Collaboration:
Work alongside fabrication and assembly teams to meet production timelines while strictly adhering to 5S cleanliness and safety protocols.
- 1+ year of liquid spray experience utilizing automotive wet paints, high-durability industrial coatings, or completion of a formal Auto Body / Collision Repair program.
- Coating Technicality:
Understanding of paint viscosity, mixing ratios, mil-thickness testing, flash times, and surface prep methods to prevent runs, sags, or orange peel. - Material Handling & Safety:
Ability or willingness to learn overhead bridge crane operation; ability to pass standard medical clearance and respirator fit-testing. - Quality & Detail Focus: A sharp eye for finishing aesthetics and commitment to flawless surface preparation on high-value equipment.
