Fredenberg Community Church is seeking a senior pastor to shepherd us. Our church is a devoted body of believers with a strong desire to grow spiritually and actively engage in the surrounding community.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep commitment to Christ and a passion for evangelism, discipleship and shepherding. This individual will inspire others in the mission of reaching the lost and fostering the growth of healthy, multiplying disciples.
Biblical QualificationsThe senior pastor will consistently exemplify the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership as outlined in Scripture, including 1 Timothy 3:2–7 (character), Titus 1:5–9 (leadership), Ephesians 4 (equipping) and 1 Peter (humility).
The ideal candidate will maintain a strong personal relationship with God, seek His guidance daily, communicate His Word effectively and demonstrate a heart for pastoral care. Alignment with the vision and theology of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) is essential.

Servant Leadership Provide spiritual leadership by cultivating a healthy and Christ‑centered church environment. Encourage individuals to grow into mature disciples through both word and action. Collaborate with church leadership to discern and implement God’s vision for the church. Demonstrate wisdom in decision‑making and foster unity through reconciliation when challenges arise. Build strong, authentic relationships across all ages and backgrounds.
Preaching & Teaching Prepare and deliver engaging, biblically sound sermons and teachings that communicate God’s Word clearly and faithfully. Promote spiritual transformation and encourage application of Scripture in everyday life. Extend teaching beyond the pulpit through small groups and discipleship settings.
Volunteer Leadership Develop, equip and support ministry leaders and volunteers. Identify and mentor individuals for leadership roles through encouragement, coaching and accountability.
Congregational Engagement Shepherd the congregation through discipleship, mentorship and pastoral care. Foster meaningful connections within the church body.
Leadership Development Cultivate a culture where leaders are valued, supported and equipped to serve effectively. Encourage growth and provide opportunities for individuals to serve according to their gifts.
Events & Pastoral Care Oversee and participate in significant life events, including weddings and funerals. Provide care and support during times of transition and hardship.
Vision & Community Outreach Maintain a clear vision for engaging the local community beyond the church walls. Demonstrate a heart for evangelism by reaching the unsaved, the hurting and those seeking hope. Actively participate in community events to build meaningful connections.

- Education:
Seminary training or formal ministry education preferred - Experience:
Previous ministry experiences preferred; 3–5 years in church leadership is ideal, though mentoring is available for qualified candidates - EFCA Alignment:
Must affirm the EFCA Statement of Faith and be credentialed (or willing to pursue credentialing) through the EFCA
The Senior Pastor serves as a member of and reports to the elder board and, through them, is accountable to the congregation.
