Overview
This role provides nursing care delivery at community clinic locations for an underserved population. The Associate maintains professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to problem solving while elevating the standard of medical and mental health care.
Sign‑on bonus: $3,000.
Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care at assigned client locations.
- Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
- Administer prescribed medication, treatments, and other tasks ordered by the practitioner.
- Provide emergency first aid care when appropriate.
- Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose, weight, and other diagnostic tests onsite when appropriate.
- Triage intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
- Record information in the chronic clinic, report reactions, and note changes in patients’ emotional or physical condition.
- Maintain accurate, concise care records in the appropriate format and on appropriate forms.
- Coordinate medical services as directed by the practitioner and provide patient education.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control precautions.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of pharmacology, including drug reactions/overdose.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition.
- Notify supervisor of medical or security incidents.
- Attend in‑service education sessions as requested.
- Perform duties within the scope of practice mandated by state and local standards.
- Observe HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Acquire professional nursing licensure.
- Train new hires and coworkers as requested.
- Proficient in using electronic healthcare records and the AIMM EMR.
- Remain available for staffing coverage needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Complete all assigned training within a reasonable time, typically under 15 days.
- Obtain and maintain NCCHC CCHP certification.
- Maintain CPR/BLS certification.
- Registered Nursing License and associate’s degree required.
- Must be licensed or willing to obtain licensure in the state(s) where practice occurs.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands‑on training required.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) to communicate, build relationships, manage stress, defuse conflicts, and increase job satisfaction.

The Associate works in a correctional or similar facility, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Exposure to viruses, disease, and infection from patients and specimens is possible.
Physical DemandsAbility to push, pull, and move medication carts (~50lb). Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting, and supporting patients are required.
Position TypeFull‑time. Days and hours vary. Weekend, evening, night, and holiday work may be required.
Supervisory InformationThis position does not have supervisory authority (no hiring, firing, or discipline). It may serve as a coach and mentor to other employees.
