Registered Nurse

Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Nurses provide clinical care and treatment to a caseload of patients, working with a variety of patients.

• Observing and recording patient behavior
• Consulting with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Establishing treatment plans, operating medical equipment
• Supervising licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nurse assistants (CNAs)
• Addressing customer service concerns during the shift
• Performing diagnostic tests
• Treating medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, car accidents and burns, and recovering post‑operative patients
• Administering medications and treatments, and documenting patient condition and status

• Good clinical skills
• Ability to recognize pathology and perform charting and preliminary exams, and to provide patient health education
• Ability to establish and manage efficient scheduling
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Ability to interact positively with staff and to keep current with developments in nursing

Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse course and RN licensure in Minnesota.
