Summary

The Registered Nurse Supervisor directly supervises the Clearpath dosing nurse team. This position will work closely with and under the direction of the Assistant Medical Director. Responsibilities may include assisting with interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, acting as a liaison between the medical and clinical teams at Clearpath, and addressing personnel concerns and patient complaints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtain and accurately document a relevant health history from patients; perform a comprehensive physical and mental health assessment.
  • Assess biomedical needs of patients and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Respond to medical emergencies in the clinic in an appropriate manner, compliant with CADT policies and procedures.
  • Educate patients and family members to impart knowledge and associated skills.
  • Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Appropriately implement protocols and orders. Review physician orders, monitor documentation, and ensure enforcement of rules and regulations, including staffing requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of healthcare practices, including agency policies and procedures, documentation, and professional and licensing standards of care and report concerns to the Assistant Medical Director.
  • Manage the dosing nurse team schedule and ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
  • Conduct regular individual supervision meetings, team meetings, and required training sessions with dosing nurses.
  • Manage timecards and review and approve time off requests from nurse team.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations for the nurse team.
  • Coach, mentor, direct, and discipline nurse team members as needed.
  • Provide and direct healthcare of patients.
  • Review medication use and ensure staff follow the medication control policies and procedures.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by the Assistant Medical Director/Medical Director.
  • Assist the Treatment Director with managing the medical section of CARF requirements.
  • Oversee and manage DEA requirements of the medication room.
  • Manage and order supplies, including medication inventory.
  • Monitor nurse team documentation and review chart audits.
  • Participate in patient care coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Perform evaluation and assessment of new and current patients to determine appropriateness for treatment or need for modification(s).
  • Participate in leadership meetings and training.
  • Follow up on bottle check, drug screen, and multi-disciplinary team outcomes.
  • Manage schedule for Assistant Medical Director and Medical Director, including patient appointments, intake assessments, and annual OTP practitioner reviews.
  • Track and schedule patient annual OTP practitioner reviews.
  • Track and manage closure doses and Clearpath patient withdrawal management admissions.
  • Follow up and investigate medication errors made by staff members.
  • Run and review prescription monitoring program reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A degree in nursing is required.
  • A current Minnesota RN license is required.
  • Two years of experience in nursing is required.
  • Experience working in an Opioid Treatment Program is preferred.
  • Leadership experience is required.
  • Must pass a background study conducted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
  • Must have CPR and First Aid certification prior patient contact.
  • Must have specific training in co-occurring disorders within 6 months of hire.
  • Must know and understand the implications of MN Statutes chapters 245G, 245A (Human Services Licensing Act);
    Chapter 260E (Maltreatment of Minors Act), 626.557 (Vulnerable Adult Act), and 626.5572 (Maltreatment definitions).
