Registered Nurse - IMC
Seeking an experienced Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (IMC RN) for a 13-week assignment working 12-hour variable day/night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The IMC RN will provide specialized care to medically complex patients in a 22-bed Intermediate Care Unit, managing a variety of conditions including sepsis, stroke, alcohol withdrawal, and other acute medical diagnoses. Candidates should be adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable floating to inpatient units as needed.
Requirements:
- 1 year of Intermediate Care (IMC) experience required
- Active Minnesota RN license required
- BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
- ACLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Epic experience preferred
- Experience caring for complex medical patients required
- Proficiency with IV starts, wound care, wound vacs, neuro assessments, restraints, and antibiotic therapy required
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills required
Traveler must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.

Procedures Responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments, managing complex medical patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, CVA, and alcohol withdrawal, administering medications and IV therapies, initiating IV access, performing wound care and wound VAC management, completing neurological assessments, monitoring restrained patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, documenting care in Epic, floating to inpatient units as needed, assisting with patient safety initiatives including call lights and alarms, and delivering high-quality patient-centered nursing care.
