This role involves the care and upkeep of garden beds to ensure they remain healthy, attractive, and free from weeds. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications
  • Experience in garden maintenance, landscaping, or a related field (1–2 years).
  • Basic training or coursework in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field (preferred).
  • Familiarity with plant care, plant health, and pest management techniques.
  • Understanding of common plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees used in planting/garden beds.
  • Ability to identify plant health issues, such as diseases, pests, or nutrient deficiencies.
  • Proficiency in removing weeds, deadheading perennials, pruning, and mulching.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities
  • Garden Bed Care and Maintenance:
    • Weed removal and prevention using appropriate techniques (e.g., hand-pulling, hoeing, mulching).
    • Soil cultivation, and amendment as needed to maintain healthy plant growth.
    • Pruning and trimming of plants, shrubs, and trees to promote growth and maintain aesthetic appeal.
  • Planting and Transplanting:
    • Planting seasonal flowers, shrubs, and other vegetation in garden beds.
    • Removing and replacing dead or damaged plants.
  • Mulching and Edging:
    • Application of mulch to regulate soil temperature, retain moisture, and improve aesthetics.
    • Creating and maintaining clean edges around garden beds.
  • Pest and Disease Management:
    • Identifying and addressing common garden pests and diseases.
  • General Maintenance:
    • Ensuring garden beds are free of debris, such as fallen leaves and trash.
    • Regular watering and monitoring of plant health.
  • Irrigation:
    • Plan and install irrigation systems, including sprinklers, valves, pipes, and control systems.
    • Perform regular inspections to ensure system functionality and efficiency.
    • Troubleshoot and repair damaged or malfunctioning systems, including broken pipes, clogged nozzles, and electrical components.
    • Adjust and calibrate system settings for optimal performance.
