Position: Quality Assurance Inspector 4 - Weekend Shift

Schedule

Friday - Sunday; 5:00am - 5:30pm. The weekend shift has a 12% shift differential added on top of the base wage as an incentive to work this shift.

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector ensures that all aerospace components and systems meet strict quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves inspecting, testing, and verifying materials, processes, and products throughout the manufacturing lifecycle to ensure compliance with engineering designs, industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications. Responsibilities include ensuring timely execution and reporting of inspection results, documenting deviations, and maintaining a cooperative attitude throughout the inspection process.

Duties

and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Read, interpret and inspect drawings, procedures, and process specifications that govern manufacturing processes.
  • Communicate findings to the appropriate department for corrective action.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions; prepare reports and communicate findings to management and engineering teams.
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality systems to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, manufacturing processes, and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the quality assurance manual and the processes/procedures within.
  • Ensure that products/articles/services meet the drawing, specification and customer requirements.
  • Analyze finished aircraft assembly bonds, parts, or components to determine acceptance or rejection based on drawings, specs, and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of all paperwork and planning related to operations performed and materials consumed.
  • Identify, document, and report any non-conformance issues or defects, and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all assigned work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times; apply 6S principles and wear proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions.
  • Comply with all paperwork, such as work instructions, that govern job duties.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities when working with manufacturing technicians.
  • Good communicator in both oral and written language.
  • Apply written processes/procedures to products/articles for inspection.
  • Flexibility with job functions and ability to multi-task.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Department Supervisor, Line Manager, or appropriate designee.
  • Provide guidance and training to MFG QC staff on quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior QA Inspectors on unique job responsibilities, processes and procedures.
  • Act as a Line support team member as appropriate.
  • Serve as a Materials Review Board member for area of responsibility.
Qualifications
  • GED/HS Diploma.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the aerospace industry, preferably in manufacturing or assembly environments.
  • A&P License, or AAS in Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications such as ASNT, ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar quality certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP, FAA regulations) and tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMMs).
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, processes, and testing methods.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and inspection software.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Manages stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
