Position Overview

What if quality didn’t follow the work but led it? As a QA/QC Supervisor at Jamar, you’re not just verifying outcomes—you’re shaping them in real time, out in the field where precision is earned, not assumed. You’re the one others look to when the margin for error disappears, turning complexity, pressure, and moving parts into one thing: work done right, every time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support quality control activities for projects across all work performed by Jamar or in collaboration with other APi Group companies.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards in all aspects of work.
  • Perform ASME design calculations for piping, boilers, and pressure vessels.
  • Inspect welding activities to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, and applicable codes, including verification of procedures, welder certifications, and material traceability.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and plant personnel to facilitate timely and efficient quality inspections during construction, maintenance, and shutdowns.
  • Oversee nondestructive examination (NDE) inspections, including reviewing and approving associated documentation.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and NDE inspections to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Ensure products and workmanship meet or exceed established standards and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to support organizational goals, using strong interpersonal skills.
  • Direct NDE inspectors and other QA/QC personnel, as needed.
  • Review QA/QC and NDE inspection results, initiating or recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Audit and maintain welder continuity logs in coordination with the QA/QC Administrative Assistant.
  • Maintain an appropriate work pace to achieve both the quality and quantity of inspection and testing activities required; accommodate a flexible work schedule.
  • Travel to and work from job sites as needed to support quality control functions; track and document activities and compile required information for ASME‑compliant packages.
  • Maintain thorough inspection records, prepare quality reports, and document Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Participate in pre‑job planning, QA/QC meetings, and audits to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the company professionally, both internally and externally, in alignment with company values and mission.
  • Actively engage in company programs, policies, and initiatives, including cross‑company collaboration, sales and marketing support, lead sharing, and idea generation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
  • One (1) year or more of professional experience, with working knowledge of ASME Quality procedures as they relate to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).
  • Working knowledge of nondestructive examination (NDE) practices, welding processes, and materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, and specifications, with the ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documents and symbols.
  • Experience in QA/QC on industrial projects, including power plants, utilities, outages, and retrofit work preferred.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
