Real Estate Representative

This position is responsible for conducting direct purchase activities throughout District 1 in a timely manner and in accordance with the Federal Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 and its amendments;
Minnesota State statutes; and all policies and procedures established by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The right-of-way activities include both partial and total acquisitions associated with a variety of property classifications, including commercial, residential (single & multi-family), agricultural, and industrial real estate. In addition, the position will assist the Principal Engineer with associated tasks including but not limited to consultant management and property management.

Additionally, this position provides assistance in the administration of the Relocation Program for MnDOT and/or other agencies when MnDOT acts as their agent. It is imperative that the incumbent of this position has a strong understanding of the Federal Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act of 1970 and its amendments.

• Two (2) years of experience in the real estate field that includes two or more of the following areas: real estate appraisals, real estate title investigations, purchase negotiations, real estate relocations, and/or property management relating to leases and/or permits.
• Knowledge of the State and Federal law and regulatory requirement for right-of-way acquisition as well as Federal relocation regulations and statutory requirements.
• Valid Class D Driver’s license
