Job Summary

The Server is responsible for delivering prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all guests while upholding the standards, culture, and reputation of the restaurant. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, cultural respect for Nigerian cuisine, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests promptly and professionally; create a welcoming dining experience
  • Present menus and accurately explain Nigerian dishes, ingredients, spice levels, and portion sizes
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them correctly into the POS system
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and verify order accuracy before service
  • Monitor tables throughout service and respond promptly to guest needs or concerns
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and elevate issues to management when necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas
  • Process guest payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, and digital payments
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, hosts, and management to ensure smooth operations
  • Adhere to company policies regarding attendance, conduct, dress code, and customer service
Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous restaurant serving experience preferred but not required
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure during peak hours
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Willingness to learn menu items and Nigerian cuisine specifics
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Physical Demands
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Lifting to 25 lbs.
  • Reaching, bending, and carrying trays and service items
