At Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, employees are part of the Perkins extended family and are responsible for making special days memorable and everyday meals extraordinary. The Host/Cashier/Greeter will provide friendly and efficient service to guests, ensure smooth flow of business in the dining room, check out guests at the register, and deliver genuine hospitality to each guest.
Responsibilities- Greet guests immediately upon arrival and welcome them to the restaurant.
- Open and close the dining floor and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
- Use proper greeting, seating, and waiting list procedures; seat guests in a friendly and timely manner.
- Anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
- Complete wait sheets and maintain accurate records.
- Check out guests at the register, ask for feedback, thank guests, and invite repeat visits.
- Move through the dining room regularly to ensure guests have everything they need and feel special.
- Offer specific suggestions for take‑out bakery items and efficiently package orders.
- Keep the cashier area, bakery cases, lobby, entryway, restrooms, and dining room clean throughout the shift.
- Ensure menus remain clean and presentable.
- Assist servers with to‑go orders, pre‑bussing, sweeping floor, rolling silverware, restocking cleaning stations, and bussing tables.
- Communicate product/service deficiencies, equipment or safety problems to the Manager on Duty.
- Keep management informed of problems and propose alternative solutions.
- Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to see at a distance of 20 feet and at close range, distinguish between shapes, and use peripheral vision to avoid hazards.
- Ability to communicate clearly, read, write, and perform simple calculations.
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold.
- Reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2½–3 feet.
- High mobility and flexibility in a confined space.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Fit through openings 30 inches wide.
- Work irregular hours under heavy pressure and stress during busy times.
- Sustain bending, reaching, walking, and carrying trays of food products weighing up to 50 pounds for up to 30 feet.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals.
Receives direction and training from the Manager on Duty regarding specific procedures and assignments.
Knowledge & Skill RequiredBasic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service can be taught through in‑house training.

Compensation$11.50 – $12.50 per hour.
