Food Service On Call Substitutes

The pay is $14.00/hour.

We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as Food Service On Call Substitutes at Melrose Food Service. This position is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service department by providing support during staff absences. Ideal candidates will have a passion for food service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to various roles within our kitchen and dining areas.

• Assist in food preparation, cooking, and serving meals according to established recipes and guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Support full-time staff by filling in for various roles, including line cook, server, and dishwasher as needed.
• Ensure proper food storage and handling procedures are followed to maintain food safety.
• Interact positively with students, staff, and visitors to create a welcoming dining environment.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as required.
• Follow all policies and procedures related to food service operations.
• Report any issues or concerns to the food service manager promptly.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service or a related field is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work on short notice and varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is desirable.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Must pass a background check and any required health screenings.
