Job Summary:

Mountain Sports Shop Attendants play an essential role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests year-round. This position assists with clothing and accessories purchases, provides excellent customer service and ensures that guests have everything they need for their activities. This position focuses on supporting various resort operations, with specific duties during the summer season.

Job Description:

** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*** Greets guests with a friendly smile as they enter the shop, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
* Provides advice on clothing and accessories, helping guests select the best options for their needs and ensuring they’re properly equipped for their trip to Giants Ridge.
* Processes transactions accurately, including calculating sales prices, receiving payments and issues receipts or refunds as needed.
* Completes cash drawer and sales reconciliation at the end of each shift.
* Maintains a clean and organized point-of-sale area, providing a welcoming environment for guests.
* Stocks and maintains merchandise on the sales floor, keeping clothing and accessories neatly displayed and easily accessible.
* Assists with periodic inventory counts and ensures stock levels are up-to-date.
* Sells tickets for summer mountain sports activities, ensuring guests have the right access to their desired attractions.
* Assists with climbing wall operations during the summer, ensures the proper use of equipment and offers guidance to guests.
* Provides instructions on the proper use of Giants Ridge facilities and equipment, ensuring guests’ safety and enjoyment.
* Supports special events and activities ensuring they run smoothly and delivering a positive guest experience.
* Stays alert to safety concerns and reports any issues to a manager in order to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
** SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
*** Partial High School education;
High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
* Ability to interact with guests in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner.
* Ability to address customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
* Ability to maintain accuracy in cash handling, including balancing cash drawers and performing sales reconciliations.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve store goals and deliver exceptional service.
* Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously without compromising customer service or quality.
* Safety and security awareness – knowledge of store policies, procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff.
** PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
*** Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
* Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 10 lbs. regularly, 10-15 lbs. frequently, and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
* Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor/outdoor environments.
* Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
* Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
* Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a sometimes fast paced environment.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays according to department needs.
* Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.

*** Point-of-sale (POS) system and credit card machine.
* Typical office equipment (computer, telephone, copier)
* Climbing wall equipment after completion of training (summer season only)
