Overview

We are an ever growing landscaping and lawn care company in Duluth, MN seeking an Account Manager to drive long-term residential and commercial sales growth and account management. This role is focused on relationship-based selling, not quick wins. The right candidate plays the long game—building trust, expanding accounts, and turning strong networks into recurring residential and commercial contracts.

This is a highly visible, revenue-driving role responsible for managing existing residential and commercial clients while actively developing new business through networking, prospecting, and strategic account management.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, marketing, construction management, horticulture, or a related field; equivalent industry experience strongly considered and often preferred.
  • 3+ years of B2B sales, business development, or account management experience, preferably in:
Commercial lawn care and / or landscaping
  • Construction, facilities services, snow, property services/management, or related trades
  • Proven experience managing long sales cycles and relationship-based selling
  • Demonstrated success growing existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling
  • Experience working with commercial clients such as:
    • Developers & businesses
    • Property & facilities managers
    • Owners / asset managers
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Adaptable, confident, and motivated in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment
  • Comfortable with CRM systems
  • Ability to collaborate with operations and estimating teams
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable owning a revenue number
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
  • Clean and valid Driver’s License
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Sales
    • Drive annual sales through residential and commercial maintenance, enhancements, and snow removal by achieving sales goals
    • Comfortable with cold and warm outreach, in-person meetings, and site visits
    • Conduct B2B outreach targeting developers, businesses, HOA’s, property owners, facilities managers, asset managers, and other key decision-makers
    • Manage accounts leads once assigned
    • Assemble and sell bids for residential and commercial services in collaboration with operations and estimating teams
    • Actively cross-sell services to existing clients once contracts are in place
    • Invoice clients after completion of services and management of their A/R accounts
  • Relationship & Account Management
    • Take ownership of existing commercial accounts, serving as the primary relationship manager
    • Develop long-term partnerships that lead to repeat business, expanded scopes, and future projects
    • Maintain regular client touchpoints to ensure satisfaction, identify opportunities, and strengthen loyalty
    • Build trust internally by working closely with Operations Managers to ensure accurate, timely quotes and smooth project handoffs
  • Networking & Market Presence
    • Represent the company at networking events, industry functions, and community opportunities
    • Build and maintain a strong local network with those who influence commercial property decisions
    • Proactively identify new opportunities through relationship-building—not just cold selling
