Job Description
The Sales Manager’s primary role is to implement and execute the company’s strategy to optimize sales growth and develop the distribution channels of the Wacker Neuson full line of equipment in a specific geographical area involving significant travel. This position focuses on Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and part of Wisconsin markets, and the Sales Manager must live within the Minneapolis, MN area.
The role is the key point of contact for our customers and is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with dealers and strategic accounts. Sales Managers formulate and implement business strategies to develop all pillars of distribution, including individual account plans to grow overall sales revenue and market share with contracted, strategic, and retail accounts.
- Lead the development and execution of the sales business plan.
- Manage and lead the development of all pillars of distribution within the assigned territory to meet goals and objectives.
- Prospect new distribution across all pillars to optimize district performance and balance portfolio market penetration.
- Identify deficiencies in distribution and create plans and market campaigns to address them efficiently using all available resources.
- Participate in local and national trade shows.
- Develop a working knowledge of competitors and their ongoing sales strategies.
- Provide financial guidance to support distribution positions in their markets.
- Develop equipment quotes and present financial programs offered.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain programs (pricing, terms and conditions, non‑disclosure agreements, incentive/rebate programs).
- Work with product managers and engineering on product development and enhancement (Voice of Customer).
- Maintain current knowledge of all Wacker Neuson product lines.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and the sales team as needed.
- Perform all job functions safely and maintain safety awareness on Wacker Neuson equipment or within the corporate fleet vehicle.
- Report known accidents, injuries, and unsafe practices to the supervisor promptly.
Skills and Qualifications
- Additional years of experience or education may be substituted for each other as determined by Human Resources.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, sales management, marketing, or a similar program is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a sales role.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours, including Saturdays for open houses and trade shows.
- Knowledge of Wacker Neuson equipment, its applications, and markets is preferred.
- A basic understanding of competitive equipment and competitors’ market tactics is required.
- Strong business acumen in understanding business concepts and marketplace functions of distribution dealers, rental dealers, and end users in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to formulate value propositions that align our offering with distribution goals.
- Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license.
