Machine Operator; Pole and Duct Excavation Maple Grove, MN

Overview

We anticipate the need for one or more Machine Operator(s) with jobsite reporting and travel throughout the service territory based out of Maple Grove, MN. The starting rate of pay for this position is $51.46 hourly (2025 rate).

This position will be posted internally for 10 Working Days from December 4, 2025, through December 17, 2025. Xcel Energy has sole right of selectivity.

• Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to digger derricks, backhoes, cranes, skid steers, material handlers (all-terrain forklifts), dump trucks and bucket trucks.
• Load and transport the delivery of materials and equipment, frame and set transmission structures, operate wire tensioning and line stringing equipment, and perform ground support activities including back filling and tamping.
• Respond to after-hours and weekend callouts.

• Two or more years of digger derrick and backhoe operator experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Must have total commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.

• Experience operating cranes, skid steers, material handlers, dump trucks, bucket trucks, wire tensioning and line stringing equipment.
• NCCCO crane certification.
