* JOB DESCRIPTION:

* PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*** Primary focus is on learning the multi-skilled maintenance trade through assignments and formal learning focused on developing maintenance skills and abilities
* Strong focus on customer service
* Understand safety rules and procedures to safely perform all tasks
* Know and practice respectful workplace behavior
* This is a technical occupation that an employee will be in a technical position and required to continue their education in a trade
* Operates Power Industrial Trucks (PIT)
** ELECTRICAL

SKILLS REQUIRED:

*** LOTO trained
* Understands and is trained on the LOTO Deviation Permit Process
* Understand electrical arc flash protection code requirements
* Understand basic concepts of electricity including voltage, current, and resistance
* Understand and operate a volt-ohm-millimeters (VOM) and non-contact voltage testers to properly test for energized electrical circuits
* Understand the basics of electrical machine controls
** MECHANICAL

SKILLS:

*** LOTO trained.
* Understand mechanical fastener types, application and installation procedures. Select and install various types of fasteners
* Handle, dispense and apply various types of lubricants
* Understand types, properties, storage, handling and application of basic lubricants, and the use of typical lubricant charts
* Understand basic machine shop skills and machine safety
* Understand and participate in TPM initiatives.
* Must be adaptable to working in dangerous situations (vaults, scaffolding), heavy equipment, and in all climates
* Understand hydraulic valve configuration, operation, and components
* Understand pneumatic valve configuration, operation, and component
* Weld, braze, solder and cut metal
* Transport and safely store oxygen and acetylene cylinders
* Use block and tackle, chain hoists, slings, levelers, come-alongs, jacks, and winches to lift or move equipment
* Inspect heavy lifting hardware and cranes, and help perform heavy lifting jobs
* Understand basic components of blueprints including scales, symbols and dimensions
** QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
*** Must be in a 2-year Associate Degree program in a related field and doesn’t have the 3-4 year experience.
* Trained in LOTO, Electrical / Mechanical Safe Work Practices, Ladder Safety, CPR, Respiratory protection, Incipient stage fire response, Confined space entry, Fall protection, Enclosed spaces entry, and Aerial lifts.
* Must operate/be trained in the use of Power Industrial Trucks (PIT).
* Basic PC skills
* Communication and time-management skills
* Developing customer focus skills

* PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

*** Some heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency. Equipment is provided to move / manipulate heavy components
* Occasionally squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, kneel and balance
* Requires repetitive action such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating. (includes right and left hands)
* Outside work required
* Working with various chemicals
* High work from, ladders and platforms
* Working in confined space conditions
* Wearing the proper PPE
* Handling hazardous waste wearing the appropriate PPE
* Working near energized electric circuits
* Working near/on hot equipment/materials
