Position: Program Coordinator 1 (Duluth, MN)

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a full-time Program Coordinator for our youth foster care program in Duluth, MN. As a Program Coordinator, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most independent lives. RSI's Chester Creek youth program is located in Duluth in the Kenwood neighborhood, about 5 minutes from St. Scholastica College and the Kenwood shopping center. The home is licensed to serve up to three children. Staff working at Chester Creek work together to provide a nurturing, structured environment that is fun, person‑centered, and supportive.

Shifts

Weekends as needed per program needs, 6:00 am–9:00 am and evening shifts during school, more shifts during the day during summer break, 12 office hours and 28 floor hours.

Salary

PC 1 pay range with rate exception: $25.75–$26.75 per hour. This program pays a rate exception of $4.50 per hour on top of RSI’s regular wages. Rate exceptions are requested by RSI from the Department of Human Services (DHS) due to more significant staff support needs for one or more person at the program, so we may compensate direct care staff at a higher wage.

Please note that rate exceptions are tied to the individual(s) receiving services and will no longer be offered if the individual terminates service with RSI or no longer needs the additional supports.

What you’ll do as a Program Coordinator
  • Managing the daily operations of the home
  • Developing and facilitating person‑centered plans
  • Providing leadership, training and supervision of staff
  • Assuring adequate staffing within budget guidelines
  • Performing program scheduling, payroll, and office functions
  • Developing outcomes/learning objectives
  • Reporting on individual progress
  • Compliance with federal, state and county licensing rules/regulations
  • Communicating and collaborating with support team members
  • Performing direct support functions (assisting people with meeting personal care needs, positive behavioral supports, household management, community activities and involvement, etc.)
For this position, you will need
  • A valid driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    Education must be related to a field in human services, education, or health. Work experience must include full‑time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or age 65 and older or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children.
  • Either of the following:
    • A four‑year degree with at least one year of work experience in the field
    • A combination of a two‑year degree and at least two years of experience in the field
    • A diploma from a post‑secondary institution and three years of experience in the field
    • Four years of work experience in the field with 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities.
  • To pass a post‑offer background check and Motor Vehicle Report check
