Description

$1,000 hiring bonus! FT and PT available. Hiring range of $18.86-$21/hr.

As a Senior Youth Worker (facility based), you will provide support, basic needs, and encouragement to youth ages birth - 17 years of age and youth ages 16-24 experiencing homelessness. You will provide coverage to shelter/Transitional Living Program Thursdays-Sundays from 3pm - 11pm and/or 11pm - 7am each week. Youth Workers will provide a consistent, safe, and supportive milieu for each individual within an environment where the population served may present with a high level of need.

The population served may change quickly and within a single shift. In this role, you will develop positive relationships with youth to help them identify immediate needs and/or plan next steps towards stability and how to advance towards those steps. You will also respond to crisis and emergent needs of youth seeking shelter.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Some experience working with youth preferred but not required.
  • Experience with homeless, at-risk youth or children or youth who have been removed from their homes.
  • Effective working knowledge of positive youth development, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Training and competency may will be provided in the following areas (requirements based on program and licensing standards):
    • Blood borne pathogens.
    • Child safety restraints.
    • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI).
    • Mandated reporting.
    • CPR & first aid for infants, children, and adults.
    • SUIDS and prevention of head trauma.
    • Runaway prevention.
    • Emergency policies and procedures.
    • Gender-based needs.
    • LGBTQ+ needs and resources.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to pass a DHS level background check.
  • Must be able to pass a driver's eligibility check.
  • Must work evenings, overnights and weekends.
