Corrections Officer - Adult NERCC; Promotional Saginaw

Routine correctional work supervising inmates incarcerated at the Northeastern Regional Corrections Center (NERCC). This position is responsible for maintaining security ies include recording and reporting inmate movements, activities and problems; coordinating activities with other staff; counseling inmates on behavioral issues; and providing transportation. Work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

• Record and report inmate movements, activities and problems.
• Coordinate activities with other staff.
• Provide counseling to inmates on behavioral issues.
• Assist with transportation of inmates.

• Constant: Balance; coordination; smell; stand; walk; hearing; vision; work with others; clients with behavioral challenges; shift work.
• Occasional: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 100 pounds; climb ladders; climb stairs; crouch/squat; grasp/handle; kneel; reach above shoulder; rotate trunk; sit; and stoop/bend.
• Rare: Crawl.

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age, according to Minnesota Statute .
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, criminology or corrections.
• At least 2 years full‑time paid verifiable experience in a human services field.
