Position SummaryEquipment operators are responsible for the safe operation of many types of road construction equipment used rators operate their machines according to operation specifications and maintenance requirements, safeguarding public members and coworkers near project sites. Equipment may include excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, rollers, pavers, skid steers, tractors, brooms, and crushing equipment. Operators perform a significant scope of work that aligns with the International Union of Operating Engineers.
This is an hourly, non‑exempt position.

BenefitsStarting wage $40.02 – $47.25 per hour depending on Union Contract. Benefit package is offered through the applicable Union.
Position Requirements- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Previous construction or physical job experience preferred.
- Physically fit to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations in all seasonal weather and conditions in a moving highway work zone.
- Ability to listen and take direction from others while being a team player and helping to train less experienced employees.
- Ability to follow all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Completion of additional project specific skills training as required.
