Material Handler
The Material Handler’s primary responsibility is to provide support for the mill’s production activities as well as loading and unloading the mill’s raw materials and finished products using powered industrial trucks. This position is non‑exempt and works a Modified DuPont schedule consisting of 12‑hour day and night shifts with rotating weekends. Candidates should carefully consider the schedule before applying. This role starts at $23.72 an hour with an opportunity to move to $26.65 an hour after 9 months once training is completed.
EssentialJob Functions
- Be fully engaged in safety and follow all safety and operating procedures.
- Unload pulp or scrap paper from trucks using powered industrial trucks (PIT).
- Perform daily lift truck inspection/cleaning.
- Dewire, stage and mix scrap paper or pulp bales, operating a front‑end loader.
- Operate bale line and perform computer entries.
- Warehouse wrapped tissue rolls using PITs.
- Load bales of pulp onto conveyors for pulping.
- Transport and wrap tissue rolls with automated wrapper.
- Support the operations team.
- Perform housekeeping duties in assigned area.
- Must demonstrate a dedicated commitment to safety.
- Must be willing and able to learn equipment operations.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- High level of initiative and drive.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
