This is a full-time, on-site General Dentist role based in Dumas, TX. The General Dentist will provide comprehensive dental care, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative procedures, extractions, and preventive services for patients of all ages. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient medical and dental histories, interpreting radiographs, performing clinical procedures in accordance with best practices, and ensuring accurate, timely documentation. The role also involves educating patients on oral hygiene, discussing treatment options and recommendations, and collaborating with dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff to support efficient, patient-centered care.
The General Dentist will uphold infection control and safety protocols, contribute to quality improvement efforts, and support the organization’s mission to expand access to care in the local community.
- Current Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school, with an active and unrestricted Texas dental license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Demonstrated clinical competence in general dentistry, including diagnosis, restorative procedures, basic endodontic and prosthodontic treatment, extractions, and preventive care.
- Strong patient communication and education skills, with the ability to explain treatment options clearly and build trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to serving underserved and rural populations, with a focus on respectful, culturally sensitive, and equitable care.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate electronic dental records, interpreting radiographs, and adhering to infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment with dental assistants, hygienists, and office staff, while also managing an independent clinical schedule.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with reliability in meeting clinical and documentation expectations in a fast-paced setting.
- CPR/BLS certification required; experience in community health, public health dentistry, or a similar setting is preferred.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and adoption of new technologies or clinical best practices.
